Captured ship: Bona Fortuna (master James Scott).
History: a Danish merchant ship (formerly the English merchant ship Prince William, captured and condemned in Brest), bound from St Martin to Bergen, laden with salt and brandy; taken on 9/20 February 1748 between Calais and Boulogne by the privateer Chesterfield (Samuel Gilbee commanding), and brought into Dover.
