Captured ship: Batchelor snow of Liverpool (master John Whiteside before the capture, Martin La Riade as a French prize).
History: an English merchant ship (100 tons), laden with sugar, ginger and some elephant's teeth [on the third leg of a slaving voyage?]; taken on 28 August/8 September 1746 in latitude 51° by the French privateer La Victorie of Bayonne (Pierre le Carbonn commanding), retaken on 7/18 September in latitude 47° by the privateer Prince Charles of Bristol (Gwynn commanding) in company with the privateer Cruizer of London, and brought into Bristol.
