Description

Captured ship: St Anna of Arendal (master Hendrick Petterson).

History: a Danish merchant ship bound from Drammen to St Valery, laden with iron, deals and staves; taken on 13/24 June 1747 by the privateer Endeavour (Robert Crousscall commanding), and brought into Dover.

  • [CP 1-CP 5]: standing interrogatories, 3 examinations, commissioners' affidavit;
  • [CP 6-CP 7]: attestation, and claim;
  • [CP 8]: allegation;
  • [CP 9-CP 10]: attestation and abstract and translation of 11 Dutch and Danish ship's papers.
Ship's Papers: most of the original ship's papers seem to have been restored, with SP 1 and SP 8 remaining.

[Decision: ship restored, cargo condemned as prize, 1 September 1747]
