Description

Captured ship: St André (master Michel Thomas).

History: a French merchant ship (60 tons, deserted by the crew), laden with claret, white wine, prunes and rosin; taken on 25 March 1745 [OS] about a league from Le Havre by HMS Bridgwater (Edward Rich commanding) and brought into Portsmouth.

  • [CP 4]: allegation;
  • [CP 5]: abstract and translation of the 11 ship's papers.
