Captured ship: L'Angela Maria Galère otherwise the Angel Mary Galley (master Jan Vet or John Fet).
History: a Dutch merchant ship bound from Cadiz to Amsterdam, laden with wine, brandy, oil, olives, lemons and oranges; taken on 27 January/7 February 1748 by the French privateer Union Villeflix of Boulogne (Louis Hercules Libert commanding) and a prize crew put on board - the privateer later sinking off Scilly, all her crew transferred to the prize with their papers; retaken on 20 February by HMS Defiance (John Bentley commanding) in company with an English and Dutch fleet, and brought into Plymouth.
