Description

Captured ship: L'Amista otherwise L'Amistad or L'Amitié of Bilbao (master Francisco Albarez).

History: a Spanish merchant ship, bound from Bordeaux to Bilbao, laden with wine, wax etc; taken on 18/29 May 1748 by the privateer Cumberland (William Coutart commanding), and brought into Guernsey.

  • [CP 2]: allegation;
  • [CP 3-CP 4]: attestation, and abstract and translation of the 26 ship's papers.

Ship's papers: numbered SP1-SP 26 (original numbers on the back).
