Captured ship: L'Apollon (Apollo) (master Denis Beccard or Becard or Picart).
History: a French merchant ship (500 tons, 130 men, 28 guns), with a letter of marque, bound from L'Orient for Senegal, laden with provisions and divers sorts of goods for the French India Company [a slave trader?]; taken in January 1745 by the privateer Surprize (Joseph Redmond commanding) but afterwards sank at sea.
