Description

Captured ship: L'Ange Gabriel of St Briac (master Ambrose Aillet).

History: a French merchant ship (30 tons); one of four French vessels deserted by the crew, on being taken in July 1745 by the privateers Fox, Greyhound and Double Revenge and brought into Guernsey.

  • [CP 1]: three examinations of the captors, commisioners' affidavit;
  • [CP 2]: attestation as to her being worth no more than £30;
  • [CP 3]: allegation;
  • [CP 4]: abstract and translation of the 14 ship's papers (all earlier than the current voyage).
