Captured ship: St Anne of Nantes (master Jacques Boutau or Boutteaud).
History: a French merchant ship with a letter of marque (250 tons, 36 men) bound from Saint Domingue to Nantes, laden with sugar, indigo and cotton; taken on 6 April 1745 by HMS Captain (Thomas Griffin commanding), HMS Prince Frederick (Harry Norris commanding), part of a naval squadron under Vice Admiral Martin, and brought into Plymouth.
