The records were created by the underwriting divisions responsible for providing buyer credits and supplier credit guarantees to UK exporters. This included the underwriting and issue of guarantees, bond facilities, and project participants? insolvency cover. The division was also responsible for general policy and administration for guarantees to banks.
Each case file has a unique number, and ran into a number of parts as several divisions in the department would make a contribution to the project according to their function.
