Draft letter from the Poor Law Board, to W Power, District Auditor, Freazley, Tamworth, enclosing an extract from a letter to W E Goodacre [William Goodacre], Clerk to the Guardians of the Mansfield Poor Law Union, concerning the appointment of medical officers William Heywood Paulson, Henry I Lomax and Griffin Spencer, to the 2nd, 4th and 5th districts. As Mr Lomax does not have full legal qualifications and Mr Paulson and Mr Spencer do not live in their districts, their appointments cannot be permanent. However, the Board consents to their employment until 25 March 1857. The guardians should pay the following salaries, Mr Paulson £31 10s, Mr Lomax £70, Mr Griffin £35, all per annum.Annotated: send copy to district auditor.
