Description

Prisoner name(s): Henry William Dawson.

Court and date of trial: Central Criminal Court [Old Bailey] August Sessions 1837.

Crime: Fraud.

Initial sentence: 18 months' imprisonment with hard labour.

Gaoler's report: Ill health.

Annotated (Outcome): Discharge; remission 7 January 1839.

Petitioner(s): Prisoner with recommendation from surgeon at House of Correction Gilbert Jackward.

Grounds for clemency (Petition Details): Very poor state of health; if time of sentence calculated from committal date would be due for discharge on 13 January 1839.
