Description

Prisoner name(s): Thomas Williams.

Prisoner occupation: Baker.

Court and date of trial: Old Bailey Sessions 1827.

Crime: Burglary of a tea caddy and gold rings from Moses Dassey [Desse] of Saint George in the East.

Initial sentence: Death.

Annotated (Outcome): Considered at Report in Council 14 March 1827.

Petitioner(s): The prisoner and 17 people including the prosecutor.

Grounds for clemency (Petition Details): Prisoner shows deep contrition and sorrow for his crime; respectable parents raised a family of 5; good character as shown by signatories.
