Grounds for clemency (Petition Details): Convict gave a job of making some spoons to Francis Cook in 1820; the spoons were supplied to Messrs Levi of Bury Street, Saint Mary Axe and shortly afterwards he was arrested on a charge of forging the stamps; was advised to plead guilty; he is a widower with 5 children; he has worked hard as a Collector for two charities - the Lying-in Charity and the Bloomsbury Dispensary; good character; Garfield was under the patronage of Sir George Booth and Garfield's character was irreproachable up to this time.
Other papers: A printed leaflet dated 6 June 1815 soliciting the vote for Mr Jeremy Garfield for the office of Collector and Messenger to the Bloomsbury Dispensary.
