Description

Prisoner name(s): William Cottrel [Cotterel].

Court and date of trial: Spring Great Sessions 1821 held at Montgomery.

Crime: Grand Larceny.

Initial sentence: Two years' imprisonment to Hard Labour.

Annotated (Outcome): Remission prepared 25 October 1821.

Petitioner(s): 3 Visiting Justices.

Grounds for clemency (Petition Details): The convict is in a dangerous state of health; orderly conduct while in prison; recommended to be discharged.

Other papers: A certificate signed by Richard Baxter, Surgeon to County Gaol stating that Cotterel is in a dangerous state of health and he needs to be discharged.
