Description

Recommendation for the mitigation of sentence for selected prisoners on board/in: Leviathan hulk.

Names and details of prisoners:

Richard Billett aged 40 convicted at Lincoln on 11 March 1815 of stealing a mare ; Thomas Jaques aged 37 convicted at Lewes, Sussex on 22 July 1815 of rape.

Initial sentence: life mitigated to 14 years(both cases).

Gaoler's name: Charles Stedman.

Grounds for clemency (Recommendation Details): Their long servitude as nurses in the Hospital Ship.

Annotated (Recommendation Details): To be pardoned.
