Letter relating to the petition of Josiah Burchett, having spent 22 years in the naval service of the crown. Serving both the Earl of Orford (Admiral and Captain General of the Fleet) and the [late] Lord High Admiral Prince George of Denmark. Humbly requesing his majesty to extend his royal favour and bounty (beyond a salary 'which hath not been barely Sufficient to enable him and his Family to live with Credit and Reputation'). Agreement to award him an additional salary (back dated to 1707) of £200.
