Copy in French of SP 42/16/75 sent to the Earl of Sunderland relating to Sir George Byng's instructions from his majesty for the speedy withdrawl of eight or nine vessels to be recalled to protect the home trade and reduce the public expense. To persue orders and instructions to discharge (from the service) and pay off of their officers and crew. Although the joint strength of the British and Danish navies was considered enough to meet the Swedes, a better watch was needed to protect the Danzig trade from the Swedish raiders. Ultimately the Baltic merchantmen could not be protected by Admiral Byng from the Swedish privateers and were ordered to return home.
