Description

Prisoner name(s): Darius Tarrant.

Court and date of trial: Dorchester 30 June 1829.

Crime: 'Assaults of a disgusting nature committed in several instances.'

Initial sentence: Two years imprisonment commuted to one year's imprisonment and a continuation of imprisonment until the payment of a £50 fine.

Annotated (Outcome): Two years imprisonment and fine remitted. Recommended to Treasury 1 July 1829.

Other papers: A letter from Mr Wollaston requesting the terms of his punishment to be changed; a letter from C B Wollaston requesting a formal document of release from the Treasury.
