Court and date of trial: Clerkenwell Sessions on 25 February 1828.
Crime: Petty larceny - stealing from the person.
Initial sentence: Transportation for life.

Petitioner(s): Henry Quint (prisoner's father)of 3 Perry Place, Oxford Street, [London] undersigned by 12 inhabitants of London including the prisoner's former employer.
Grounds for clemency (Petition Details): William Wilson led prisoner astray; respectable persons can vouch for the prisoner's former good character; the petitioner believed that it was unnecessary to call character witnesses at the trial because he was assured of the prisoner's innocence and the slight grounds of the charge; the petitioner has been a housekeeper at Perry Place for 27 years and raised a family of seven honest and respectable children; the prisoner is truly sorry and corrected of his juvenile errors; the prisoner could become a useful member of society; the prisoner's mother and family are heartbroken.
