Description

These war diaries contain the daily record of events, reports on operations, intelligence summaries, etc, of headquarters formation and unit commanders of British forces serving in the Middle East, including Aden, East Africa, Sudan, Malta, Persia and Iraq.

Arrangement
Arrangement

The series is arranged in the order of headquarters formations and areas, followed by units of the Royal Armoured Corps and other arms of the service, not in order of precedence. Initially for the years 1939 to 1940 then by year to 1946.

The smaller commands, Aden, East Africa, Sudan Defence Force, Malta and Paiforce (including Indian Troops) are separate at the end of each section.
