Description

This series consists mainly of out-letter books of General Sir Robert Brownrigg, Military Secretary to the Commander in Chief, 1795 to 1803, Quartermaster General, 1803 to 1811, and Governor of Ceylon, 1811 to 1820.

The series includes material which would otherwise be found amongst the Records of the Commander-in-Chief, Military Secretary and Army Council (WO).

Separated material

Volumes I and II of the miscellaneous letter books were not included and presumably are no longer in existence.
