Description

These papers consist of the correspondence and memoranda of Sir George Murray as Lieutenant Governor of Upper Canada in 1815, Commander in Chief in Ireland, 1825 to 1828, Secretary of State for War and the Colonies, 1828 to 1830, and Master General of the Ordnance, 1834 to 1835 and 1841 to 1846.

The series includes include semi-official and private correspondence; a private letter book relating to military affairs in Ireland, 1825 to 1827; and papers on defence and on the Royal Artillery.
