These records consist of certain small collections of papers including: a few musters, 1709 to 1743; records of Militia, fencible and Volunteer units, 1797 to 1819; records of the Paymaster General, 1762 and 1795 to 1851; records relating to the garrison of Colchester Barracks, 1796 to 1823; records of the Connaught Rangers and Galway and Roscommon Militias, 1793 to 1919; papers of Field Marshal Earl Cavan, 1916 to 1937; papers of Sir Stanley Von Donop as master general of the ordnance; and maps and other papers of Sir William Thomson relating to campaigns in Mesopotamia, Russia, Salonika and India, 1915-1923.
