To: John Lee, Bishop Auckland [Durham].
From: The General Board of Health.
Draft letter acknowledging receipt of a letter dated 19 December 1855. It is stated in reply that his account for work done during the inquiry preliminary to the application of the Public Health Act 1848 to the district of Bishop Auckland has been reduced to a total of £6 2s. Lee is informed that upon receipt of his agreement to the reduction that amount will be sent to him.
