To: Thomas Thornton, Clerk to the Local Board of Health, Bishop Auckland [Durham].
From: The General Board of Health.
Draft letter acknowledging receipt of a letter dated 28 June 1855. It is stated in reply that when the plans and estimates relating to the proposed works have been submitted to the General Board of Health a Superintending Inspector will visit the district for the purpose of a local inquiry. It is further stated that it would be very desirable that the plans of drainage and water supply should be submitted together, if this is possible without causing any serious delay or inconvenience.
