Royal warrants under sign manual, appointing officers to the position of Treasury Solicitor to act as Crown nominee, and to administer in certain cases the property and effects of intestate persons dying without known kin. Also included is correspondence between the Treasury Solicitor and the Duchy of Lancaster solicitor concerning the latter's appointment as Proctor on behalf of the Duchy.
Other volumes include establishment papers concerning staff in post, staff allowances and correspondence with HM Treasury, and out letter books of the Treasury Solicitor's Private Office.
