The Management Board met on a monthly basis to provie corporate strategic leadership to Defra. The Management Board moved from the discussion of financial issues to a more strategic and corporate role in 2000. The Permanent Secretary was the Chair and the Board Secretariat was the Financial Policy Division moving to the Change Management Unit in 2000
