This series contains a master set of internal Treasury circulars dating from 1949 to 1963. Treasury circulars were intended to give instructions and advice on a wide range of topics to heads of Treasury divisions (HODs). The notices were also used occasionally as a means of inviting comments from heads of divisions on some matters. The notices were issued by the Establishment Officer's Branch of the Treasury. One of the functions of this branch was to manage the domestic organisation, staffing and administration of the Treasury.
