Description

Folios 131-132. Letter from Andrew Doyle, Poor Law Inspector, to the Poor Law Board, enclosing a statement of averages for the Newcastle under Lyme Poor Law Union for the years 1855, 1856 and 1857. Lists averages for the parishes of Audley, Balterley, Betley, Chorlton, Keele, Madeley, Maer, Newcastle under Lyme, Whitmore. Also amounts paid for relief to irremovable poor, officers' salaries and workhouse loans.
