Folio 290. Draft letter from the Poor Law Commission, to Thomas Day, Clerk to the Guardians of the Bromsgrove Poor Law Union. They say that where the number of candidates does not exceed the number of guardians to be elected, they are not entitled to act until after 25 March 1844. The current guardians will comprise the board that day. Since the passing of [5 Vic c 57 s 9], it is not necessary to include the names of candidates who have previously refused to serve, on the voting papers.
