Folios 255-256. Draft letter from the Poor Law Commission, to Thomas Day, Clerk to the Guardians of the Bromsgrove Poor Law Union and to the Droitwich Poor Law Union. They say that they have received a report from Mr Austin [Alfred Austin], Assistant Poor Law Commissioner, into cases of neglect by Mr Fletcher [Thomas Swindell Fletcher], Medical Officer for Bromsgrove. In the case of Mrs Ward, the charge of neglect has not been upheld. In the case of Mrs Pratt, the Commission finds that it arose from a mistaken notion by Fletcher as to his duty in the case, and as no ill consequences arose, they will confine themselves to reminding him of his duties in respect of notes from relieving officers. They attach a copy of their letter to Fletcher [not included].
