Letter containing an enclosure (dated 8 September) from Alexander Dalzell held prisoner in the Marshalsea upon suspicion of murder and piracy. Accused by one Vallier (alias Clarke) a Frenchman, of being involved with the Pretender's [James Edward Stuart's] plans for going into Scotland.
