Copy of a letter from Byng concerning intelligence reports from an informer at Havre. Concerns a Scotch ship of Aberdeen (under a Roman Catholic master and part owner David George), taking on a quantity of arms and powder (forty seven chests of arms, including blunderbusses) from Rouen bound for the Highlands of Scotland. Further Reported drinking of"Jemmy's Stuart's (the Pretender's) Health" by Captain Camock of the 'Speedwell' (formerly in Queen Anne's service) and the detention by the (French) authorities of one Jordan an Irishman from a Waterford Brigantine now at Honfleur.
