Description

This subsubseries contains numbered interrogation reports (with K.P. references) of enemy prisoners of war interviewed at Kempton Park racecourse, Sunbury on Thames, Middlesex, by the Prisoner of War Interrogation Section (Home) - P.W.I.S.(H).

P.W.I.S.(H) interviews provided a first line of interrogation of enemy prisoners arriving in the United Kingdom, to extract information or to establish whether a prisoner merited further investigation by the Combined Services Detailed Interrogation Centre (UK) - C.S.D.I.C.(U.K.). The reports therefore are fairly short (often only one sheet) and follow a fairly standard ordered layout. They generally record details of the enemy prisoner being interviewed (for example, name, rank, unit, number, where and when captured and transferred from); some include other personal details. The reports generally concern German military issues and situation, organisations, operations, equipment and personalities. Many of the reports include organisational diagrams of various units.

Note: the composition or layout of the original (former) references is variant in terms of spaces, brackets and slashes.
