The records in this series consist of the minutes of the various Ordnance Boards and Committees which operated after 1855 under the superintendence of the War Office, the Ministry of Munitions and the Ministry of Supply and of their subsidiary committees such as the Explosives Committee. The Ordnance Board Proceedings provide a record of issues considered at the bimonthly meetings and deal mainly with the design of armaments and munitions.
Most pieces in this series are printed volumes and some contain indexes to some of the proceedings and memoranda.
