The Crown Agents Holding and Realisation Board was established in 1980 under the Crown Agents Act 1979. Its role was to oversee the realisation or writing-off of Crown Agents assets following the financial crisis suffered by the Crown Agents in the mid-1970s. The Board met quarterly, receiving reports from bodies tackling the work, including the London Advisory Committee, the Crown Agent's Realisation Committee, and Messrs Coopers & Lybrand who were contracted to undertake some of the work.
The Board continued in existence beyond the privatisation of the Crown Agents in 1997, as a few assets remained to be realised.
