Files of returned writs of subpoena, labels of writs, writs of attachment, and some commissions, issued out of Chancery under the great seal but returnable to the Court of Star Chamber.
Most of the writs were designed to secure the appearance of defendants and witnesses in court. They were written in the Office of the Clerk of the Process, and entered in the entry books of the court. The files appear to contain both executed and unexecuted writs.
