Description

This series contains maps and plans created or accumulated by the State Paper Office. The series includes atlases (both published and factice), maps, plans and charts, relating to the United Kingdom , the colonies and other countrieswithin and outside Europe, mainly showing fortifications. The work of John Arrowsmith, Jean de Beaurain, John Cary, Covens and Mortier, and Thomas Jefferys, is represented among them.
The first 65 pieces originally held in this series have been transferred to map extract references, in the three series MPF 1 and MR 1. They are described fully under those references.
