Captured ship: Wagter previously Lady Graaf (master Johannes Otto).
History: a Dutch merchant ship with French passport (300 tons, 14 guns, 54 men), bound from La Rochelle to the Cape of Good Hope, laden with ordnance stores and 105 officers and soldiers of the Legion of Luxemburgh who were destined for the Cape of Good Hope; taken on 19 September 1782 off Cape Finisterre by HMS Resolution (Sir James Wallace commanding) and HMS Anson (James Rodney commanding), and brought into Plymouth.
