Captured ship: Wacksamkeyt [Waaksaamheijd] of Ostend (master Georgius Yages, prize master Solomon Jones) ).
History: an Austrian Netherlands [Flemish] merchant ship (sloop, 34 lasts, 6 men), bound from St Malo to Madeira in ballast; taken on 13 May 1781 in latitude 39°N , longitude 31°W between the islands of Corvo and Flores, the Azores, by the privateers Patsey ( Laurence Dooling commanding) and Harlequin ( Joseph Faymer commanding), and brought into Liverpool, having parted company with the captors because of bad weather; ship's papers were sent in by Dooling, but are not here (probably restored).
