Captured ship: Waaksaamheijd formerly Three Brothers (master Pieter Claase Harsema).
History: a Dutch merchant ship (120 lasts, 8 men) bound from Amsterdam to Cartagena, Spain, laden with fir planks; taken on 2 August 1779 off the South Foreland, by HMS Expedition (Lieutenant Walter Long commanding), HMS Nimble (Lieutenant William Jones commanding) and HMS Rambler (Lieutenant James George commanding) and brought into the Downs..
