Captured ship: Royal Charlotte (master Jacques Veillon).
History: a French merchant ship (60 or 70 tons, abandoned by her crew), bound from Nantes to Rochfort, laden with flour, oil; taken on 24 June 1780 in latitude 46°23'N, longitude 1°37'W a mile from shore between the mainland and the Isle de Ré by the privateer Mars of Jersey (John Tocque commanding), and brought into Penzance .
Court papers: 1-14; Ship's papers: 15-62. [These are interim paper numbers, and are likely to change once more fully catalogued].
