Captured ship: Rose Noble (master John Coffin).
Capture history: an American merchant ship (schooner, 40 tons) bound from Boston, Massachusetts to the West Indies, laden with fish, lumber; taken on 3 July 1776 [this may be a mis-remembering: see SP 3] about 30 leagues south of Nantucket by HMS Halifax schooner (Lieutenant William Quarme commanding).
Intended voyage: from the United States to the Caribbean Islands.
