Captured ship: Princess of Orange (master John Roach).
History: an English merchant ship (120 tons, 2 guns, 8 men), bound from Guernsey to Bristol, laden with brandy, wine, currants; taken on 13 March 1781 off Land's End by the French privateer L'Aigle of St Malo (D'Alberac commanding), retaken on 14 March 1781 about 4 leagues off Scilly by the privateer Britannia of Ilfracombe (William Walters commanding), and brought first into Scilly and then into Bristol.
Court papers: 1-24; Ship's papers: 25-43. [These are interim paper numbers, and are likely to change once more fully catalogued].
