Captured ship: Port Franc of Ostend (master Frans Oepts).
History: a Flemish (Austrian Netherlands) ship (galliot, 140 tons, 7 men), bound from Ostend to Brest, laden with pitch, tar, lead, oil; taken on 9 September 1782 about 4 Dutch miles from Ushant in latitude 48°10'N by the privateer Friendship (Francis Pearce commanding), and brought into Penzance.
Court papers: 1-10; Ship's papers: 11-32. [These are interim paper numbers, and are likely to change once more fully catalogued].
