Captured ship: Polly Bolling of York, Virginia (master Samuel Poole).
History: an American merchant ship (sloop, 50 or 70 tons, 6 guns, 13 men, 2 passengers), bound from Yorktown, Virginia to St Eustatius, laden with tobacco, staves, heading (timber); taken on 10 May 1780 about 12 leagues from Capes of Virginia in latitude 37°N, longitude 74°W by the privateer Sir George Collier (Alexander McPherson commanding), and brought into New York.
Court papers: 1-4; Ship's papers: 5-33. [These are interim paper numbers, and are likely to change once more fully catalogued].
