History: an American privateer (sloop, 90 tons, 14 guns, 77 men), bound from Connecticut on a cruise; taken on 1 June 1781 about 12 leagues S of Long Island, British New York by HMS Medea (Henry Duncan commanding), HMS Assurance (William Swiney commanding), HMS Charlestown (Henry Francis Evans commanding), HMS Amphitrite (Robert Biggs commanding) and HMS Vulture (Rupert George commanding), and brought into New York.
