Captured ship: Phoenix (commander John Howland Rickard).
History: an American merchant ship with a commission (brig, 107 tons, 4 guns, 12 men), bound from Cadiz to Boston, Massachusetts, laden with soft fruit, dry goods; taken on 9 April 1781 in latitude 38°N, longitude 63°W by HMS Galatea (James Reid commanding) and HMS Camilla (John Collins commanding), and brought into Kinsale, Ireland.
Court papers: 1-2; Ship's papers: 3-9. [These are interim paper numbers, and are likely to change once more fully catalogued].
