Captured ship: Montagne de Mer (or Zeeburgh) (master Jan Slaack).
History: a Dutch merchant ship (snow, 180 tons, 8 guns, 2 swivels, 11 men), bound from Cette [Sète] to Morlaix via Malaga, laden with wine, brandy, cork; taken on 5 August 1780 in latitude 38°'N, longitude 2°W by the privateer Mars (John Forsyth commanding), and brought into Liverpool.
Court papers: 1-7; Ship's papers: 8-14. [These are interim paper numbers, and are likely to change once more fully catalogued].
